Counsellor

For the past 30 years Janna has been working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings. Early in her career, Janna worked in the area of adoption and witnessed firsthand the struggle of infertility and its impacts on families. At that point in her career, she became aware of the lack of support available for these families.

She soon committed to educating herself and pursued training in infertility counselling by some of the leading clinicians in the field. Janna then developed a specialization and joined forces with her current partner, Karin Schwartz.

Janna received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work followed by a master’s in counselling psychology from the University of British Columbia in 1993. Janna is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Counselling Special Interest Group (CSIG) of the CFAS. Since 2000, Janna has counselled clients from the Lower Mainland and the United States.

Counsellor

Karin has been counselling individuals, couples and families for over 30 years. She has a passion for helping people of all ages deepen self-knowledge and gain insight in order to make meaningful change in their lives. In her sessions, Karin seeks to draw out client needs to compassionately guide them towards a life of well-being with themself and others.

For the past 20 years, Karin has developed a special interest in the area of infertility and reproductive health. Karin has been fortunate to receive training in infertility by some of the leading clinicians in the field. She has a personal passion for the mind/body connection and seeks to help her clients access this powerful source to lead them towards health and healing.

Karin received a master’s degree in clinical social Work from the University of Southern California in 1993 and has since served her clients in a variety of settings including mental health, community agencies, medical clinics and private practice.

She is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Counselling Special Interest Group (CSIG) of the CFAS.
